Do I get a Refund When My Term Life Insurance Policy Expires?
I purchased a term life insurance policy which has expired.
Shouldn't the company refund some of my money since no claim was filed?
Term life insurance provides coverage for a specified, limited period of time that can be as short as one year or as long as thirty or more.
Term life insurance provides for insurance protection only and provides no further benefits when the term of your policy expires. So, there's no refund if you outlive your regular term life policy.
However, if you purchased a return of premium term life insurance plan, you would get most of the premiums back after the policy expires. These life insurance plans cost more than regular term life insurance, and you need to ask for a return of premium term life policy when applying for your coverage.
