How Long Does Term Life Insurance Last?

How long does a term life insurance policy provide coverage?

That depends on the term you select when you purchase your policy.

Term insurance is temporary life insurance for a set period of time. Yiou can usually choose a term that will last for 10, 15, 20 or 30 years.

Basically, if you pass away during the term of your term life policy, your beneficiary receives the death benefit from your life insurance.

If you outlive the term of your policy, your coverage ends, or you may be able to renew your policy for another term, which is usually up to 10 years, should you need further life insurance coverage.

In addition, some policies offer term life insurance up to age 65 or 70, with level premiums for a set period of time, usually for up to 30 years.
